of the artwork included in the galleries are from 2007 to present.

  I use a combination of two techniques.  Rood's Divisionist color wheel from the 1880's archives and Free Range.  Rood's striking color contrasts and luminescence sets up the travel of the viewer's eye.  The second style is what I have termed "Free Range" in which while blocking in a base color, I use the random patterns from the brush strokes in the paint. This lets the painting decide what it becomes.  Free Range paintings generate a looseness that I enjoy and it allows my mind to travel into the painting.  I try to strike a balance between these types of paintings with realism, mostly to keep a variety of works flowing from Terlingua Studio.
